| Through the exploration of traditional 'story cloth' conventions, nath uses the tactile and material qualities of textiles to reproduce stories of personal traumas, feelings and experiences. They believe that there is a hidden connection between trauma studies and art practices rooted in fibre. This focus on fibre is an inherent interest that is constituted by the belief that as cloth and textile are made of fibre, so too is the body and mind made of fibre. The materialisation of experience and trauma is intended to create a version of the internal as an external vessel by which a transitional object can be made. Shifting from one point of view to another. @potsyisqueen |
'the green (body)' is a physical manifestation of one of nath's dissociated identities. This emerged as a result of personal trauma and has since guided the research behind their thesis. This body represents one of two conflicting bodies; thinking of home always and wondering when they will be able to return to the green house on the green hill.
